Akümsan Factory Building

The Akümsan Building, designed as a warehouse on a plot located in the Esenyurt Kıraç Industrial Zone, features a two-story office building on its entrance facade. Of the building’s approximately 5,500 m², 4,700 m² consists of warehouse and technical spaces. The warehouse is located on the ground and basement floors. Elevators and ramps between floors facilitate vertical circulation. The ground floor has been raised to a 1.2-meter flood level. This elevates the building’s ground level, defining the entrance through wide staircases that establish a connection with the landscape. The upper-floor overhang creates a sheltered outdoor space through its eave effect; it defines the entrances and establishes a visual and physical connection with the cafeteria. The office building defines the building’s urban envelope through its holistic, horizontal geometry while establishing a relationship between storage and operations within the interior space.
